Have You Noticed Your 'Intention Chickens' Coming Home To Roost?

Intention ChickenQuick update: The response to the last post has been wonderful; the comments left have been broad-spectrum and a joy to read, and I even got a few responses via email, both with suggestions and sympathy. ;-)

The good news is, the question in question is resolving nicely. I shouldn’t be surprised, of course, because I’ve been around long enough to see that the Universe/Divine/Orchestrating-force-of-creation (or whatever you want to call it) has a way of sending the solutions along with the challenges, and is always more than responsive to our requests.

Not our spoken requests, of course…

… but our unspoken requests always seem to be received loud and clear, don’t they?

As the New Year approached, I made a deeply conscious decision/intention/request to face whatever I needed to face, in order to become the person I truly am. (get this: I even specifically requested to come face-to-face with whatever I need to in order to achieve my goals, to challenge assumptions and let go of conventions in the name of growth and success… talk about asking for it, eh?)

Have you noticed your Intention Chickens coming home to roost?

What I mean is, the past month, with the advent of the New Year and all the resolutions for change that we optimists tend to make, sets the stage for some big change, assuming we’re committed to changing and taking steps to make things different. I’m positive that many of the whirlwinds I’ve been experiencing lately have been due to those intentions, those “Yes, hit me with your best shot!” prayers that I put out to make big changes in my work and my life.

So, my question is, how’s it going for you? Are you seeing the return of your decisions and intentions, either as change-inducing turmoil, as jackpot payoffs, or both? If you pull your perspective back a bit, and look from a higher vantage point on your life, are you seeing the results of your intentions coming back around to you?

Special Offer:

I realized yesterday that I broke with tradition this New Year’s a bit—although unintentionally—and I’d like to rectify that.

Every New Year (or at least somewhere in the holiday season) I like to offer a special deal for my readers; a chance for a few people to work closely with me to make their intentions and resolutions come to light.

One of my favorites from times past (and a fav of those who regularly take me up on my special offers) was called the “7654321″, and it gives you a blend of individual sessions and group work, with a specific focus, a good sense of humor, and a huge savings. This year’s 7654321 has a theme of “intuition”…

My intention was/is to continue doing what I’m doing, i.e., staying in tune with what my life is about. At the moment I don’t need any major breakthroughs. Life doesn’t have to be spectacular to be profound.

Not just since the new year, but for the past few months I’ve noticed a big shift.

Much of it has to do with all the change that’s occurred in my life in the past year, and taking time to rest and adjust…

But I got really clear on the kind of part time job I needed in order to have some income coming in while still having time in the day to build my practice/biz…and I found it the next day. That was in October.

I still wasn’t ready to do much with the practice, so I waited, trusting myself to know when I was ready.

In the last few weeks I have felt ready and I again took the time to get clear on what I needed to do, and when…and what I need continues to appear in front of me…my next steps show up and I continue to take them.

I still get discouraged, but try to see that as time to regroup. I was in a funk this afternoon even, and instead of pushing myself into a blog post I didn’t feel like writing I went to take a nap and give myself some rest. Then I got a phone call from a therapist in town that I had left a message with – she’s offering me some space in her building at a cost I can afford to begin seeing clients locally!

    Great metaphor, Adam!

Our intentions are like carrier pigeons… I’m being hit with the reality of exactly what I asked for “More Work.”

It goes without saying that setting intentions for future success, or launching new endeavors, manifesting new wealth — ultimately, if it’s some type of creative entrepreneurial intention, then it’s a work order.

I’m somewhere right smack where I should expect to be — between the positive “launch” energy of the New Year and the fruition of the future Harvest. What’s most abundant, at this stage, is all the work and maintenance required to proceed.

I’ve been thinking a lot this week about the energy of the end of January — a few days ago, we passed through the day that statistically the most suicides occur… We’re in the “Resolution Crash” phase, where the great new intentions of a few weeks ago are unfolding and revealing the nitty-gritty details — this is a time when they are most likely to be abandoned…

I can’t help but notice also how this corresponds with a Full Moon… I’m staying grateful, blessing the work I asked for (and got), just plugging away and maintaining.

This is the Big Stretch underwater, where we just dove in deep, but have yet to surface. The only thing for it is to Keep on Swimming! :-)

Yep. You betcha! My life is going grandly. The universe is doing exactly as you wrote here. I’m delighted, joyful, grateful, and lighter. Can’t remember a better time in my life. Can’t imagine it going away.

Jean, glad to see you’re staying in tune. But

Life doesn’t have to be spectacular to be profound.

… who said anything about it having to be spectacular?

Dylan, that sounds great; isn’t it amazing how opportunities just line themselves up, once we’re aligned?

Slade, right on, brother. Keep on pluggin’ away…

Liz, those sound like some nice chickens. :-)
